Our Advisory Methodology
Khazanah Group offers three advisory engagements, each designed around a distinct category of strategic challenge. The engagements are not interchangeable — each has a defined scope, a stated duration, and a specific deliverable. This structure is intentional. We have found that clear scope and clear deliverables lead to better work and less ambiguity for the client.
Each engagement begins with a scoping conversation, proceeds through a structured analytical phase, and concludes with a written reading and a delivery session. The pace is set by the requirements of the analysis, not by a billing calendar. Where an engagement involves a workshop with the leadership team — as the Market Entry Reading does — this is scheduled at a point where it will be most useful, not front-loaded.
Scoping Conversation
We understand the situation and agree on whether the engagement is the right fit.
Structured Analysis
Research, interviews, workshops and deliberation, paced to the engagement's requirements.
Written Reading and Delivery
A clear written position, followed by a discussion session with the leadership team.
Engagement 01
ASEAN Market Entry Reading
A four-week engagement for established Malaysian companies considering measured entry into one or two ASEAN markets. The reading covers a structured look at the firm's existing strengths, an honest review of the comparable demand in the target market, and a written summary of the practical considerations — partner availability, regulatory tempo, talent considerations — that bear on the decision. The aim is to give the leadership team a clearer view rather than a marketing case for entry. Includes one workshop with the leadership team and a closing written reading.
- Structured review of the firm's current competitive position
- Demand landscape analysis in one or two target ASEAN markets
- Assessment of partner availability and regulatory environment
- Talent considerations relevant to the target market
- Leadership team workshop and closing written reading

Engagement 02
Senior Talent Acquisition Strategy
An advisory engagement for established firms in Klang Valley whose growth ambitions are increasingly bounded by their ability to attract and retain senior talent. Over ten weeks we work with the chief executive and the head of human resources to set out the firm's present senior bench, map the realistic talent pool in the market, and prepare a considered approach to the firm's positioning as an employer of choice for senior professionals. The deliverable is a written strategy and a small set of practical actions the firm can take over the following year.
- Assessment of the firm's current senior leadership bench
- Mapping of the realistic senior talent pool in the Klang Valley market
- Employer positioning analysis against comparable firms
- Written talent strategy with a defined action set
- Working sessions with CEO and Head of HR

Engagement 03
Group Strategy & Capital Allocation Advisory
A senior engagement for diversified groups whose chairs and chief executives would value a thoughtful outside counterpart through the period of a full strategy cycle. Over six months we sit alongside the leadership team as the group considers its capital allocation across business units, the relative attractiveness of holding versus divesting particular operations, and the cadence at which strategy is being reviewed at board level. Includes monthly conversations, two written readings during the engagement, and a closing presentation. Suited to groups with consolidated revenues above RM 200 million.
- Monthly advisory conversations with Chair and CEO
- Capital allocation review across business units
